PHOENIX, AZ (March 20, 2016)--After recently capturing the Thunderbird Invitational Mason Andersen (-10) took home a three stroke victory at the Arizona Stroke Play Championship. Andersen was one of just three players to finish the championship under par on the Grand Canyon University Golf Course.
Andersen started the day with a two stroke lead and extended it with a final round 2-under par 69. Once again the Chandler, AZ resident shredded the front nine. For the week, Andersen was 13-under par on the opening nine.
On Sunday, Andersen began with an opening birdie. It was the first of four birdies on the front nine, good for his second consecutive front side 32. Despite a two-over par 37 on the back nine Andersen cruised to the title.
Illinois commit Michael Feagles (-7) finished in second place thanks to a final round 2-under par 69. Eric Ghim (-1), heading to San Diego State next year, started the day two off the pace but struggled from the get go, finishing in third with a 5-over par 76 on Sunday.
