Mississippi Old Waverly Inv: Five Tied at Top
WEST POINT, MS (April 11, 2016)--In an exciting final round at the Old Waverly Invitational five players finished tied atop the Championship flight leaderboard.
Those tied atop the leaderboard at 3-over-par include David Allen, Ed McDugle, Robert Pannell, Josh Seiple and Steve Wilson. Of the group of five that tied for first only two where under-par on the final day. In fact they were the only two players under-par on the day.
Allen had the best round in the field firing a 3-under-par 69 to bounce back from a day one 78. The round got started in earnest on the par-5 second when Allen carded an eagle. From there he didn't slow down as he carded four birdies including three in a row from holes 14-16. Allen might have won outright if it hadn't been for a bogey on No. 7 and a double-bogey on the 12th.
The only other player to finish under-par in the final round was McDugle shooting a 1-under-par 71. In the final round McDugle knocked in four birdies and three bogey's.
Three of the players tied atop the Championship flight standings also tied for the top spot in the Senior flight. The trio is comprised of Allen, McDugle and Pannell.
Finally in the Super Senior division Don West (+5) took home the crown. West fired rounds of 74-75 on his way to winning by five. In the final round West carded three birdies. Mike Pharr (+10) finished in second place.

stroke play. Divisions: Men's, Senior (50+), Super
Senior (60+). Flights will be determined following 18
holes of play. Players will be re-paired following the
first
round based on score. The number of flights is
based
on field size with awards following completion of the
second round.
