Penn. Pub-Links: Three-way tie for lead after first day
CARLISLE, PA (April 25, 2016) - Three players are tied for the lead and another eight are within three-strokes after the first round of the 76th Pennsylvania Public Links being played at Carlisle Country Club. Jeff Frazier, Thomas Timby and Kevin Haag all share the first round lead after first round 1-under 70's.

Frazier playing at his home club used his home course advantage as he registered three birdies and two bogeys.

Timby got off to a slow start and was 2-over after 14 holes before a late flurry moved him into a tie for first. On No. 15 Timby got back to even for the day thanks to an eagle on the 489 yard par-5. Following two pars Timby birdied the last to get into red figures.

Haag birdied two of the first three holes as he got off to a quick start before leveling off. In all Haag had four birdies and three bogeys.

Jim Mastromatteo (+1) leads the Senior Division by two-strokes while Thomas Fleig (+4) holds a three-stroke advantage in the Super Senior Divison.

ABOUT THE George Dressler Memorial

Formerly a public links tournament, the George Dressler Memorial is a 36 hole stroke play event with Championship (up to age 54), Senior (ages 55-64) and Super Senior (age 65 and older) divisions. There is a simultaneous team event with a best-two-of-three-score format among teams of three players from Pennsylvania Golf Association member clubs.

All players up to age 64 play from the same tees. The Senior Division is paired among the Championship Division

The tournament is named in honor of George Dressler, who was a member of the United States Golf Association's public links committee.
