DUBLIN, IRELAND (May 7, 2016) - Colm Campbell Jr. continued his fine play at the Irish Amateur with a third round 6-under 66 and at 14-under he is the leader by two-strokes over one of the tournament favorites Jack Hume. Campbell has now put together rounds of 68-68-66 at The Royal Dublin Golf Club.

Campbell, the 2014 East of Ireland Amateur winner, is off to a strong start this season but he is still looking for his first win. Campbell was a semifinalist at the West of Ireland Amateur Open, made the final 16 in the Spanish International Amateur and recently tied for 14th at the Lytham Cup.

First round leader, Jack Hume, rebounded in a big way from a second round even-par 72 to shoot a third round 7-under 65. Hume, in search of his third win of the year, is now 12-under and will begin Sunday's final round in second place alone.

Marco Penge coming off an 8-under 64 yesterday shot a 3-under 69 today and is tied for third with Maximilian Boegel at 9-under and three off the pace. Connor Syme is 7-under and in fifth.

ROUND TWO RECAP

On the heels of back-to-back 68's Colm Campbell Jr. has grabbed the 36-hole lead at the Irish Amateur. Campbell sits at 8-under and is two clear of the rest of the field at The Royal Dublin Golf Club.

Three players are currently tied for second place at 6-under. The trio incudes Marco Penge who bounced back from a first round 2-over 74 to shoot a tournament best 8-under 64 on Friday, Tiarnan McLarnon and Tom Gandy.

First round leader Jack Hume remained at 5-under shooting even-par 72 and he is tied with Eanna Griffin in fifth place.

Jack Hume fired an opening round 5-under 67 and is the first round leader at the Irish Amateur being played at The Royal Dublin Golf Club. Hume is in search of his third win already this season after wins at the European Nations/Sotogrande Cup and the South African Stroke Play.

Hume leads a trio of golfers currently tied for second place at 4-under and only one behind. The group is comprised of Eanna Griffin, Colm Campbell Jr. and Sam Whitaker.

Five other players are 3-under and tied for fifth following the opening 18-holes.
