NCAA WOMEN'S DIVISION I REGIONALS
On Saturday the NCAA Women's Regionals concluded and we learned what the field for the 2016 National Championship at Eugene Country Club will look like. The field will include 24 teams and the top 12 individuals not on a qualifying team. The tournament will be played from May 20-25.
TIMUQUANA CUP
Joseph Deraney began the final round of the Timuquana Cup two-strokes off the pace but a final round even-par 72 was good enough for him to win the young but already prestigious Timuquana Cup.
Doug Hanzel and tournament host Steve Melnyk both repeated as Senior and Super Senior Senior champions respectively.
IRISH AMATEUR
Not all the the big moments happened on the American side of the great pond. While most of the country was just beginning their Mother's Day, on the other side of the Atlantic Colm Campbell was busy putting the finishing touches on his Irish Amateur Open victory.
The win was the biggest win of Campbell's career and it ended a two-year winless drought.
FOUR-BALL AROUND THE COUNTRY
This weekend saw three golf crazed states hold their four-ball competitions. After a rainy Friday Kyle Bailey and Harold Dill III won in Virginia while yesterday William Rainey and Phillip Oweida won the Carolina Four-Ball and in California it was Brett Viboch and Bobby Bucey emerging victorious at the NCGA Four-Ball.
