David Zickler victorious at Signal Mountain Invitational
SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, TN (May 22, 2016) - On Sunday
former Auburn Tiger, David Zickler emerged victorious
at the Signal Mountain Invitational. Zickler led by two-
strokes at the beginning of the final round at Signal
Mountain Golf & Country Club before pulling away in the
final round and finishing 9-under, seven shots clear of
the field.
Zickler went low during the final round shooting a
5-under 66 and then followed it up with a second day
even-par 71. As a result, when the final round began
Walt Moffitt was just two shots off the lead. However, in
the final round Moffitt was unable to mount a charge
and when Zickler shot 4-under 67 little was left to
doubt.
Moffit finished in second place at 2-under and was
the only other player in the field under-par. Lake
Johnson and Mikey Feher were 3-over and tied for third
while Brooks Thomas was 5-over in fifth.
