Scott Anderson wins Ohio Mid-Amateur by three

CANTON, OH (June 22, 2016) -- Scott Anderson struggled during the final round but he was still able to win the Ohio Mid-Amateur at Brookside Country Club. Anderson finished 5-over and three-strokes in front of Michael Cress.
Anderson put together rounds of 74-69-75--218 as he was able to survive a 4-over final day. During Wednesday's round Anderson carded five bogeys, with his lone birdie on No. 5.
The best round of the week for Anderson came on Tuesday in the second round when the Columbus, OH resident finished 2-under. Anderson tallied three birdies and just one bogey.
Second place finisher Michael Cress shot rounds of 77-71-73--221 as he finished 8-over-par. David Becher was in third at 9-over.
Tim Hickman fired the only under-par round of the final round with a 1-under 70. Hickman concluded the 54-hole event in a five-way tie for sixth.
