EAGLE, ID (June 26, 2016) -- Rising Washington State junior Derek Bayley fired a 6-under 65 on the final day of the Idaho Amateur to finish 8-under and claim the title. With his big final day at BanBury Golf Course Bayley finished three-strokes ahead of second place finisher Graysen Huff, who was 5-under.

After the first day of play Bayley was 1-over following a 73, but he turned it around each of the next two days with under-par rounds. On Saturday it was a 3-under 68 that set the stage for Sunday's fireworks.

In the final round Bayler jump started his round with three birdies in the first five holes to move to 5-under for the week. A couple of holes later the Washington State Cougar birdied the 9th to turn in 4-under 31 and 6-under.

Bayler continued his momentum on the back nine with a birdie on No. 14 but he gave it back with a bogey on the next hole. However, despite the dropped stroke nothing could slow Bayler on this day as he closed in style with birdies on each of the last two holes.

Runner-up Graysen Huff, a sophomore at Auburn, also fired a 6-under 65. Huff completed his bogey-free round with six birdies, three on each side.

Ryan Porch (Idaho) finished 2-under and in third, Blair Bursey (Utah Valley) was fourth at 1-over while four golfers were 2-over and in a fifth place tie.
