SEASIDE, CA (July 16, 2016) -- Kevin Velo wasn't quite as hot on Saturday as he was on Friday (when he fired a tournament low round of 4-under 68 at Bayonet) but he still has the lead heading into Sunday's final round at the Bayonet Black Horse Amateur on the Monterey Pensinsula.
Velo, an rising sophomore at San Jose State who resides in Danville, posted 3 birdies and 3 bogeys on a cool and blustery day that was anything but summer like. Velo bogeyed two of his final four holes, as did his next closest competitor, Ryan Slater (Gilroy) who attends USC. Slater posted 73 for a two round total of 2-under 142.

SEASIDE, CA (July 15, 2016) -- It was a one bogey, five birdie start to the Bayonet Black Horse Amateur for Kevin Velo. The San Jose State rising sophomore completed his opening round at Bayonet and Black Horse with a 4-under 68.
