Robby McWilliams takes the Louisiana Mid-Amateur

SHREVEPORT, LA (August 7, 2016) -- With three consecutive 4-under 68's Robby McWilliams finished 12-under-par and won the Louisiana Mid-Amateur at Southern Trace Country Club. McWilliams finished four-strokes in front of Patrick Christovich.
During the course of the three days of play McWilliams, after opening with a bogey-free round, only carded four bogeys.
On Sunday McWilliams began with a 1-under front nine before catching fire immediately after the turn with four birdies in a five hole stretch from Nos. 10-14. McWilliams did bogey the 15th but he was still able to shoot a 3-under 33 on the backside.
Christovich finished 8-under par and alone in second after rounds of 67-73-68.
Derek Busby was 7-under in third, Buck Williams was fourth at 3-under while Todd McPherson was fifth at 2-under and the final player under-par.

Entrants must possess a certified USGA Handicap

of 8.0 or less.
