Jimmy Ellis is low Pennsylvania Open amateur
PRESTO, PA (August 10, 2016) -- Jimmy Elliis finished 5-under and earned low amateur honors at the 100th Pennsylvania Open held at The Club at Nevillewood. Mercer finished the 54-hole event tied for sixth following scores of 70-71-70.
On the final day Ellis birdied three holes and bogeyed one. The former Ohio Bobcat first birdie of the day came on the opening hole with the other two coming on Nos. 12 and 15.
Future Northwestern Wildcat Luke Miller began the final round 6-under and two off the pace before shooting a 3-over 75 to finish 3-under and tied for 10th.
In all four amateurs finished in the top-10.
