Amateur Michael Weeks is T3 after two rounds at the FL Senior Open

STUART, FL (August 13, 2016) -- With one round remaining amateur Michael Weeks is 1-under and three-strokes behind professional Lee Rinker at the Florida Senior Open.
Weeks has put together rounds of 71-72 thus far. Playing his second round at Sailfish Point Golf Club Weeks got off to a good start with a birdie on the 2nd hole. However, consecutive bogeys on Nos. 6 and 7 dropped him to even-par for the week and 1-over for the day.
One more birdie followed for Weeks on the par-3 12th hole to bring back to even-par for the day and 1-under through 36-holes.
Weeks will begin his final round at 9:21 a.m. EST.
Fellow amateur Peter Wegmann struggled on Saturday and fell into a tie for 10th at 4-over.

After one round at the Florida Senior Open amateurs Peter Wegmann and Michael Weeks are 1-under and tied for fifth two-strokes back. Professional Lee Rinker is 3-under and atop the leaderboard.
Wegmann, played his first round at Sailfish Point Golf Club and shot a 1-under 71. The reigning Florida Senior Amateur champion birdied three holes and bogeyed two during his opening round.
Weeks joined the other half of the field at Willoughby Golf Club and shot a 1-under 71 that included tree birdies and two bogeys.
Play will resume on Saturday with the second round of play.

Fifty-four holes of individual stroke play. The
field will be cut to the low sixty and ties after
thirty-six holes. The lowest score for 54 holes
will be the Champion.
Open to male Florida Golf Professionals and
Amateurs at least 50 years of age who are
residents of Florida. For amateurs, a valid USGA
Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4 at time of entry is
required.
