Lisa Schlesinger leads Senior Women's North & South after 36-holes

PINEHURST, NC (August 17, 2016) -- Lisa Schlesinger will take the lead into the final round of the Senior Women's North & South Amateur. Schlesinger is 3-over and leading defending champion Judith Kyrinis by one-stroke.
Heading into what could be a final day battle on Pinehurst No. 1 between Schlesinger and Kyrinis the 36-hole leader has combined rounds of 77-70.
Following a no birdie, three bogey, double-bogey first round Schlesinger rebounded with a 2-under round that included six birdies and four bogeys. During the second round on Pinehurst No. 5, Schlesinger birdied five of seven holes from Nos. 3-9.
Kyrinis has reached her 4-over mark with scores of 77-71. On Tuesday Kyrinis birdied one hole and bogeyed six. In her 1-under second round she cleaned things up with three birdies and two bogeys. Her birdies came on Nos. 2, 7 and 10.
Marie-Therese Torti is a distant third at 9-over while Susan Beaupied and Kim Eaton are 10-over in fourth.
In the Super Senior Division it is Lisa Smego leading by two-strokes. Annette Gaiotti and Patty Moore share second place.

North & South Senior Women's
Part of the annual North & South series of
tournaments at Pinehurst that include Men's,
Women's, Juniors and Seniors. Entries are open to
female golfers who meet the requirements below.
All applicants must conform to the USGA Rules of
Amateur Status and meet the requirements of the
USGA Gender Policy.
In the Women's Open Division, applicants must
have reached 50 years of age by start of
tournament to be eligible for competition.
In the Women's Super-Senior Division, applicants
must have reached 60 years of age by start of
tournament to be eligible for competition.
FORMAT: 54-holes of stroke play will determine
the Champion. Play will be divided into four
divisions (Women’s Open, and Women’s Super-
Senior) and contested with one round each on
three different Pinehurst courses. A full field will
consist of 90 total women between both divisions.
