RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (August 19, 2016) -- Albane Valenzuela of Switzerland is 2-under and the owner of a two-stroke lead in the amateur race heading into the final round of the the Women's Olympic Tournament.

So far Valenzuela, tied for 20th, has combined rounds of 71-68-72 at the Olympic Golf Course.

The incoming Stanford freshman got out of the gates quickly with a birdie on the 2nd hole to move to 4-under. However, four bogeys during a 10-hole stretch from Nos. 5-14 dropped her back to even-par for the week.

With four holes still remaining Valenzuela was able to turn things around carding birdies on Nos. 15 and 16 to move back into red figures.

One day after shooting a 6-under 65 Ireland's Leona Maguire tallied a 3-over 74 in the third round. The 74 was the second of the week for Maguire who is even-par through 54-holes and tied for 24th.

The now two-time Mark H. McCormack Medal winner got off to a quick start with two front nine birdies to turn at 2-under 33 and 5-under for the week. Unfortunately, the wheels fell off a bit on the closing nine as Maguire bogeyed five holes and shot a 5-over 41.

Hong Kong's Tiffany Chan posted a 2-over 73 in her third round, following up previous scores of 71-75. Chan, a senior at USC, will begin the final round 6-over and in 45th place.

Chan rolled in her only birdie on the day on the 10th.
