MESQUITE, NV (August 30, 2016) -- Apparently Ed Fryatt wasn't satisfied with the five-stroke lead he had after each of the first two rounds of the Nevada Mid-Amateur at Conestoga Golf Club.

Beginning the day 7-under Fryatt, a former PGA Tour player, made sure he left nothing to chance as he fired a final round bogey-free 7-under 65 to finish 14-under-par and 11-strokes in front of second place finisher Brady Exber.

Tuesday's flawless round was the second time this week that Fryatt, who birdied 17 holes throughout the tournament, had played Conestoga Golf Club bogey-free. Fryatt fired a clean 5-under 67 on Monday before shooting a 2-under 70 on Tuesday, a tally that included his only two over par scores of the week.

The back-to-back Nevada Mid-Amateur winner jump started his round with a birdie on the opening hole, the first of four birdies on the front side. After turning in 4-under 32 and 11-under overall Fryatt didn't let up as he birdied three more holes, including Nos. 16 and 18.

Exber was 3-under and second, Todd Roberts was 1-under and in third, Erik Matthewson was fourth at even-par while Ryan Bolton at 3-over was fifth.

36-HOLE RECAP

Defending champion Edward Fryatt will carry a five-stroke lead into the final round of the Nevada Mid-Amateur. Fryatt is 7-under through two rounds.

The week for Fryatt, who won the Nevada Match Play earlier in the month of August, began with a bogey-free 5-under 67 on Sunday. Fryatt was 2-under after 14 holes but sprinted to the finish with three consecutive birdies on Nos. 15-17.

During the second round Fryatt, a former UNLV All-American and PGA Tour player, had a momentary struggle with a double-bogey on the 8th and a bogey on the 3rd, however five birdies allowed Fryatt to card a 2-under 70.

With rounds of 72-70 Brady Exber sits at 2-under. In his second round Exber birdied four and bogeyed two. His birdies came on Nos. 7, 9, 12 and 16.

Erik Matthewson is a distant third at even-par.
