BIRMINGHAM, AL (September 13, 2016) -- Curtis Luck, the 20-year old golfer from Australia, has been named Amateur of the Month for August by the Southern Golf Association.

Luck earned the title after his win on the South Course at Oakland Hills last month during the U.S. Amateur Championship, becoming the third Aussie to capture the Havermeyer Trophy and securing his spot as the seventh ranked Amateur in the world.

Winners of the Southern Golf Associations March-through-October award are determined by a blue-ribbon national panel of golf officials, coaches and journalists. Now in its 14th season, notable recipients have been Bill Haas, Michelle Wie, Hunter Mahan, Ryan Moore, J. B. Holmes, Webb Simpson, Rhys Davies, Kyle Stanley, Kevin Fortin-Simard, Rickie Fowler, Danny Lee, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Alice Hewson, and more recently Lee McCoy & Aaron Wise.
