Thomas Todd and Matthew Wiggins win South Carolina Players Four-Ball in Playoff
BLYTHEWOOD, SC (September 18, 2016) -- Thomas Todd and Matthew Wiggins shot a tournament low score of 64 for a two day total of 132 (-12) and then defeated the team of Robert Lutomski and Bryan Newton (-12) on the first playoff hole to win the South Carolina Players Four-Ball at Columbia Country Club.

Starting the day on the fourth hole, the Todd and Wiggins team got off to a slow start making two birdies on the first nine holes they played. The Laurens team turned things on however making four birdies and one eagle over the last nine holes, including a birdie on their last hole, the par-5 3rd. The winning duo only needed a par to win the sudden death playoff on the 18th hole as Lutomski and Newton struggled with a bogey.

In the First Flight, Mike Cobb and Bob Merryman tied Walter and Neal Todd for first with a score of 138. Doug Cottingham and Will Hightower fired a second round score of 6-under-par 66 to take top honors in the Second Flight.

The 2016 South Carolina Players Four Ball Championship was played on the par 72 – 6,855 yard Columbia Country Club course in Blythewood, SC. The field consisted of 44 two-man teams playing Best Ball format conducted over 36-holes.
