Paul Simson cruises to North Carolina Super Senior title

KINSTON, NC (September 28, 2016) -- The top-ranked senior amateur in the Carolinas, Paul Simson of Raleigh captured finished 11-under as he captured his 31st Carolina Golf Association championship by winning the 9th North Carolina Super Senior Championship hosted by Kinston Country Club.
“I want to thank Kinston Country Club and it’s members for hosting the event, I really, really enjoyed the course,” added Simson.
Playing in his first North Carolina Super Senior, Simson started the final round with a five shot lead. He cruised to victory by backing up his first round 65 with a bogey-free 5-under 66, winning by 10 strokes. Arlis Pike of Kernersville and Dee Blankenhorn of Raleigh were the only other players to finish under-par for the tournament. Both finished at 1-under 141 and tied for second.
Charlie Parks of Asheboro of finished in solo fourth after posting two rounds of even-par 71.
