LIVERMORE, California (January 6, 2007)—Day one of the amateurgolf.com Livermore Championship saw Colin Peck of Palo Alto, CA backed up an 8-iron off the tee and into the hole on the 170-yard 11th, then followed the ace up with a birdie on the 12th en route to a 2-under-par 70 to lead the championship flight at Poppy Hills Golf Course.

Following Peck were three players at 73.

Jim Ono paced the senior division through most of the day, until Mark Miller drew even with a birdie on 18.

In the net division, Tom Silva’s playing partners lamented that he “made every putt” on his way to a 65, leading the field by four strokes.

In the championship division, Shannon Yocum shot a 79 from the blue tees to grab a share of 25th place.

ABOUT THE amateurgolf.com 2007 Livermore Valley Championship

Callippe Preserve Golf Club

We are extremely excited to announce that the 5th Annual amateurgolf.com Livermore Valley Championship will be hosted by two of the Valley's finest courses, the NCGA's own Poppy Ridge Golf Course (where we will play on Saturday) in Livermore, and the brand new Callippe Preserve Golf Club in Pleasanton.

After the first round, we will serve a tasty barbeque lunch at Poppy Ridge, then players are invited to join us at the spacious practice facility -- and home of Eric Jones' school called Seaver Golf -- where long drive champ Eric Jones will put on a driving exhibition, and maybe even challenge our players to try the "big stick." On Sunday, we move over to Callippe Preserve in one of the most serene and scenic settings in all of Northern California. We know you will support amateurgolf.com as we transition this event to these new host courses.
