AMARILLO, TX (October 3, 2016) -- Anna Schultz carded a 6-over par 77 to gain a two-stroke lead over defending champion Carolyn Creekmore going into tomorrow’s final round of the Texas Senior Women's Stroke Play Championship. Creekmore’s 4-over-par 75 was the low round of the day and allowed her cut Schultz’s lead in half. She got off to a hot start with a birdie on the opening hole and had drawn even with Schultz at the turn.

Schultz, the 2014 champion, was two-over par on the back nine and to regain her lead. Carol Turnage shot 80 and is seven-strokes back. Lubbock’s Marian Barker, the 2008 and 2009 champion, shot her second consecutive 80 to place her in fourth place.

There are two players in the field with the name of Leslie Henry and they both shot matching 82's in Sunday’s first round and were paired together. Dallas’ Henry (nicknamed Olive) shot a 78 and got the better of Houston’s Henry. Both players qualified for the first flight and will play for the championship title tomorrow.

The field was broken into three flights following today’s round. Nannette Wheelis, one of three Breaking 100 campaign leaders in the field, improved 16 strokes from her first round with a second round 80 and finds herself near the top of the second flight along with Dallas’ Chris Meadows. Karen Northcutt shot an 84 and qualified for the first flight with a 36-hole total of 167.

Tomorrow’s final round begins with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. at Amarillo Country Club.
