Philadelphia PGA beats Amateur in Philadelphia Challenge
MALVERN, PA (October 6, 2016) -- The Philadelphia PGA took control early and never looked back as they won their third straight Philadelphia Challenge Matches over the amateurs 11.5-6.5
In the morning four-ball at Applebrook Golf Club, the host course for the sixth straight year, the PGA Professional's created a nearly insurmountable margin by taking a 5.5-.5 lead.
The amateurs seemed to settle down during the afternoon singles as they earned a 6-6 split.
2016 marked the 26th playing of the Philadelphia Challenge Matches and the PGA has won 24 times.

Format: Pros vs. amateurs team matches.
Eighteen-hole individual and four-ball match
play played concurrently.
Eligibility: Open to 12 (10 amateurs and 2
seniors) male GAP Member Club golfers at
the invitation of the Golf Administration
