FAIRFAX, Calif. (October 11, 2016) -- Arizona State came from four shots behind to win by six over the field at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational hosted by the Meadow Club.
The Sun Devils fired a final-round 273 (-11) which was the lowest of the day and 10 shots better than 36-hole leaders St. Mary's and Pepperdine. Senior Ki Taek Lee led the Sun Devils throughout the tournament, earning co-medalist honors with a 15-under 198 (66-64-68). Senior Jared du Toit also played exceptionally well with a 13-under 200 (68-65-67) for a tied fourth place finish.

St. Mary's and North Carolina State finished in a tie for third while Pepperdine dropped four spots to finish 5th place on their own. Host school California finished in a tie for eighth place.
The win for Arizona State ended a run of seven straight wins at this event for the California Bears. It also marks the first win at Arizona State for head coach Matt Thurmond who replaced Tim Mickelson earlier this fall.
