Two teams share Opening Round Alabama State Senior Four-Ball lead

TUSCALOOSA, AL (October 14, 2016) -- Robert Nelson of Fairhope and Walker Grant of Montgomery and Kevin Newton of Birmingham and Charles Noto of Birmingham each fired an eight-under 64 to share the first round lead at Ol’ Colony Golf Complex.
One shot back after an opening round of 65 (-7) are three time champions Tom Jungkind of Hoover and Mike Greer of Birmingham.
Defending champions Del Wood III of Vestavia Hills and Doug Davis of Birmingham are tied for fourth with three other teams at 66 (-6).
Championship format is 54 holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play, 18 holes daily on October 14-16, 2016. Due to the field size, there will not be a 36 hole cut implemented this year. Awards will be presented to the low three teams. In addition, the Champion will have their name engraved on the Bob Phillips Trophy housed at the AGA office.
