FLORENCE, SC (October 18, 2016) -- Unseasonably warm temperatures and abundant sunshine greeted players for the opening round of the 10th Annual Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship at Florence Country Club. Jimmy Hamilton of Aiken will take a one-stroke lead heading into the final round.
Hamilton began his day on the 2nd hole with a bogey, but was able to right the ship and close out his opening nine with an even-par score of 35. After making birdie on No. 12, he began to stumble with a double-bogey at 13 and two consecutive bogeys at Nos. 14 and 15 before regained his composure with birdies coming in at 16 and 18. Bobby Cox of Duncan and defending champion Joe Hackler of Myrtle Beach are one shot behind after an opening round 73.
