Top-seeds move on at Argentine Amateur, quarterfinals next

AUENOS AIRES, Argentina (November 11, 2016) -- Four of the top-10 seeds are still alive at the Argentine Amateur after the Round of 32 and 16 were held on Friday. The highest of the seeds remaining at Pilar Golf Club include two-seed Andress Schonbaum and three-seed Juan Alvarez.
Schonbaum advanced to the quarterfinals thanks to a 19 hole win in the Round of 32 over No. 31 Ignacio Juan Noba and 1 up win in the Round of 16 against 47-seed F. Christian Slaibi Martinelli.
Three-seed Juan Alvarez was able to move forward following a 2 up victory against 35-seed Luis Joaquin de Aduriz and a 5&4 triumph over No. 46 Juan Ignacio de Giacomi in the afternoon.
The other top-10 seeds to advance to the quarterfinals were eight-seed John Ross Galbraith and Florida State senior 10-seed Cristobal Del Solar.
Among the remaining seeds the lowest is 37-seed Juan Cruz Rocca.
Following the quarterfinal matches on Saturday morning will be the semifinals during the afternoon. The Argentine Amateur will conclude with a 36-hole final on Sunday.
