MIAMI, FL (December 23, 2016) -- With rounds of 72-71-74 Santeri Lehesmaa of Finland finished with a 54-hole total of 217 and won the Boy's 16-18 Division of the Doral Publix Junior Golf Classic at the Doral Blue Monster. Lehesmaa, who finished second at the Estonian Open Amateur, ended up two-strokes in front of Italian Amadeo Figus (74-73-72--219)

Alejandro Aguilera (71-76-77--224) of Spain shared third with Brazilian Fred Biondi (77-79-68--224). The top-5 was rounded out by German Lucas Buerk (73-78 -74--225).

In the 14-15 Boy's Division on the Golden Palm Course American Michael Thorbjornsen (71-71-72--214) won by six-strokes over Frechman Quentin Debove (68-77-75--220) and German Hannes Hilburger (76-71-73--220).

The Girl's 16-18 Division, played on the Red Tiger Course was claimed by Linn Grant (70-74-72--216) of Sweden. Three-strokes behind the runner-up position it was England's Martha Lewis (68-75-76--219). In third it was Charlotte Liautier (78-72-71--221) of La Reunion.

Also on the Red Tiger Course was the Girl's 14-15 Division it was American Maisie Filler (67-71-74--212) squeaking out a one-stroke win over Argentinian Agustina Gomez Cisterna (69-72-72--213). The top-three was rounded out by Switzerland's Victoria Monod (72-74-72--218).

Since 1981, formerly known as the Doral Publix Junior Golf Classic, the First Tee - Doral Jr. Classic has hosted thousands of competitive junior golfers from across the globe in the city of Doral. The experience consists of competitive rounds of championship play, the Adamonis Cup — a one-day match play tournament featuring top players from Florida squaring off against top players from the Northeast, as well as trophy ceremonies after the championship final rounds. The final winners in the 16-18 age category will have the privilege of having their name etched on the trophy accompanying all previous winners. Moreover, for the 14 & over divisions, this tournaments is one of the largest in college recruiting, with historically over 100 college coaches in attendance annualy.
