OLD LYME, CT (May 1, 2017) - A long day became even longer but Glen Boggini and John Sawka didn't mind one bit. On Monday the Connecticut State Golf Association kicked off its season with the playing of the Connecticut Two Man Team Championship at Black Hall Club and after 36-holes of play wasn't enough a playoff was necessary.
In the playoff it was Boggini and Sawka who put an end to the proceedings with a victory on the first extra hole.
The winning pair posted scores of 68-73 to finish regulation 1-under as the Connecticut Two Man Team Championship featured two different formats. In the morning teams played Better Ball before switching to Alternate shot in the afternoon.
Joining Boggini and Sawka in the playoff were Aaron Gross and Shep Stevens who put together rounds of 67-74 on Monday.
In third place it was Max Adler and David Zeid at even-par, William Tefft and Rob Violet took fourth at 1-over while two-time defending champions Bill Hermanson and Dave Szewczul; Richard Pingalore and Michael Thompson shared fifth at 2-over.
