BAY SHORE, NY (May 12, 2017) - On Thursday Jonathan Jeter shot a 4-under 67 to medal and now on Friday he has won two matches to advance to the semifinals of the Havemeyer Invitational.

Competing at Southward Ho Country Club, Jeter began his day by defeating No. 16 Russell Aue 4&3 in the Round of 16 before taking care of nine-seed Bradley Rock Jr. 3&2 in the quarterfinals.

Jeter will now square off against Kevin Dolph Saturday morning in the semifinals with the winner advancing to tomorrow afternoon's championship match.

Dolph bested No. 13 David Segot 1 up in the Round of the 16 and then 12-seed Todd Kozlowsky 5&4 in the quarterfinals.

The bottom half of the bracket, similar to the top half stuck to form with the two-seed Jack Halleron set to square off against three-seed Jason Monroe.

Halleron made it through to the semifinals with a comfortable 6&5 win over No. 15 Bryan Pendrick in the Round of 16 and then in the quarters he defeated seven-seed Hunter Semels 3&1.

For Monroe it was a win over 14-seed Jason Pierson in morning action while in the afternoon he defeated six-seed Rob Rusche 5&4 in the quarterfinals.

SENIOR DIVISION

In the Senior Division top-seed Richard Schmidt advanced to the semifinals with a pair of hard fought wins. On Friday morning in the Round of 16 Schmidt defeated Tod Pike 1 up and then in the quarterfinals eight-seed Stephen Rose in 20 holes.

On Saturday morning Schmidt will face the highest remaining seed, No. 12 Craig Maerki, who defeated No. 5 Tom Fox 2&1 and then in the quarters four-seed Owen Dolan 1 up.

The second semifinal match will feature two-seed Tom Trakoval and No. 11 Matthew Corrigan.

On Friday Trakoval defeated No. 15 Don Cervantes 5&4 in the Round of 16 and No. 10 Edward Gibstein in a 20 hole quarterfinal match.

Corrigan reached the semifinals with a 19 hole win over No. 6 Brian Brown who was playing on his home course and in the quarterfinals he was able to move on after facing No. 3 Marc Coleman.

ABOUT THE Havemeyer Invitational

Regional event played on Southward Ho, a A.W. Tilinghast-designed course that was bailed out by Horace Havemeyer during the Depression era. Since 1951, the Havemeyer Invitational has attracted top metropolitan region amateur golfers to compete at Southward Ho in a three day event. 18 hole qualifier establishes match play contestants in both championship and senior divisions.
