Nick Moore and Matt Cohn win Marin County Four-Ball

FAIRFAX, California (July 17, 2017) -- One of the best kept secrets in Northern California tournament golf is the Marin County Four-Ball.
The 36-hole best-ball event at the Alister Mackenzie-designed Meadow Club is a treat that invited players relish every year. It provides a rare chance for top players in both open and senior flights to compete at a top-100 layout that they might not normally get a chance to play (it's private).
This year, two of the top Mid-Am players in Northern California -- Nick Moore of Seaside and Matt Cohn of San Francisco -- partnered up to shoot 13-under 129, edging two teams by a single shot for the title. Moore and Cohn opened with a morning round of 8-under 63, recording 9 birdies and only doubling up once. The afternoon can be a little more difficult, with conditions getting windier and legs getting tired (even in carts, which most players take). But Moore and Cohn fired 5-under 66 to stay ahead of their chasers.
Gary Dunn and Josh Sedeno partnered for a 12-under total of 130, with rounds of 66 and 64. But it was the team of Tommy Semereaux and Ryan Wilson that really got hot, posting the low round of the day with a 9-under 62 in the afternoon. Both players shot well under 70 (Semereaux posting 7-under 64, his partner a 67) and actually doubled up twice, one of those being with eagles on the first hole, a reachable par-5 that most of the field takes advantage of.
SENIOR DIVISION
Jeff Wilson and Todd Barsotti have been partnering for a long time, and successfully we might add. On Monday the pair fired 62 in the morning and 66 in the afternoon for a 14-under total of 128. Even from a shorter setup than the championship division, that's impressive.
Wilson and Barsotti finished three ahead of John Mack and Rich Rowley, who posted 11-under for the tournament. Terry Foreman and Mark Miller and Jeff Britton and Casey Boyns tied for third at 10-under.
