(August 21, 2017) - Well the weekend couldn't have gone any better for Clemson sophomore Doc Redman. After reaching match play by surviving a 13-for-8 playoff, Redman overcame a 2 down deficit with two holes to play against Doug Ghim of Texas to capture the 117th U.S. Amateur in dramatic fashion.

The victory for Redman not only earned him the most coveted trophy in amateur golf but also a spot on the 10-man Team USA Walker Cup roster.

Across the vast Atlantic Ocean Pedro Lencart of Portugal handled defending champion Falko Hanisch to capture the British Boys’ Amateur.

Back stateside Tim Jackson won yet again. Jackson, a two-time Walker Cupper as a mid-amateur, bested the field to win the Tennessee Senior Match Play and his 19th Tennessee Golf Association title.

Out west Stanford junior Isaiah Salinda bested defending champion Shintaro Ban of UNLV to win the NCGA Match Play. In the Senior Division Randy Haag defended his title while Frank Pieper won the Super Senior Division.

Finally at the South Carolina Mid-Amateur Four-Ball it was a family affair with uncle Walter Tood and nephew Thomas Todd capturing the title.
