Former #1 Amateur Maverick McNealy Signs with Callaway
Maverick McNealy adds his name to the long list of talented young Callaway Staffers

CARLSBAD, CA (October 3, 2017) –
Maverick McNealy, the decorated Stanford alumnus whose amateur accomplishments carried him to the #1 world ranking, has signed with Callaway Golf as he makes
his professional debut this week at the Safeway Open.
The 21-year-old from Portola Valley, CA rose to #1 in the world rankings in 2015 and remained at or near the top throughout the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
McNealy rose to the top on the strength of a dominant college career, during which he won 11 tournaments for the Cardinal. His most prominent wins included the
2015 Pac-12 Championship,
2016 Nike Collegiate Invitational, and the
2016 Western Intercollegiate.

While at Stanford, he won the
2017 Ben Hogan Award, given annually to the nation’s top college golfer, as well as the
Byron Nelson Award, and the
Mark McCormack Medal.
McNealy was a regular member of teams representing the United States in international competitions. He represented Team USA at the 2015 and 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup, as well as the 2016 Eisenhower Trophy. Most recently, he played on his second
U.S. Walker Cup team last month, posting a perfect 4-0 record as Team USA
regained the Walker Cup.
As a full Callaway Staffer, McNealy will use Callaway clubs, balls, bag, gloves and an Odyssey putter. He is currently playing a GBB Epic driver and a Chrome Soft X ball, both of which were in the bag at the Walker Cup.
“I have played Callaway equipment at the biggest amateur events this year, and I am extremely confident with how these clubs perform,” said McNealy. “I’ve been particularly impressed with my driver and golf ball, and I know this is the best equipment choice for me as I start my professional career.”
His professional career will start this week at the Safeway Open, to be played at the Silverado Resort & Spa in Napa, CA.
