Harry Wilson Super Senior: Cobb wins a Tight Contest
FLORENCE, SC (October 18, 2017) - Rick Cobb was able to hold off two-time defending champion Joe Hackler to capture the 11th Annual Harry Wilson Super Senior Championship played at Florence Country Club.
After bogies on three of his first five holes Cobb (Taylors) was able to right the ship making birdies on holes six and eight to close out his front nine. A birdie and a bogey on the inward side capped off his one over par round of 72. Defending champion Joe Hackler (Myrtle Beach) matched two bogies with an eagle on his front nine but three bogies and a birdie on the back left him one shot behind Cobb at days end.
In the Legends Division, 2013 Super Senior Champion Mike Weiner (Kiawah Island) had an up and down day with four birdies, a bogey, and a triple bogey for his even par round of 71. The former champion was able to hold off a second round charge by Steve Pachol (Columbia) to capture the Legends Division Title.
