Blake Collyer closes in 64 to win Australian Dunes Medal

RYE, Australia (November 24, 2017) - On the strength of a closing 64 Blake Collyer has won the Australian Dunes Medal hosted by The Dunes Golf Links. The final round 64 matched the low round of the tournament and it lifted Collyer to a 276 finish and a one-stroke triumph.
During the 72-hole event Collyer carded rounds of 72-66-74 over the course of the first three days. The victory was his first AGC Ranking title with his highest finish previously coming at the 2016 Trans-Mississippi Championship where he tied for fourth and the 2016 W.E. Cole Cotton States Invitational where he reached the semifinals. Collyer also qualified for this years U.S. Amateur and in 2015 he reached the Round of 16 at the Australian Amateur.
David Micheluzzi (74-69-66-68--277) took second, Kyle Michel (69-72-69-71--281) was third, in fourth it was Andre Lautee (72-70-70-70--282) while in fifth it was Darcy Brereton (76-71-71-68--286) and Aiden Didone (74-71-72-69--286).
WOMEN'S DIVISION
In the Women's Division Dee Russell (74-70-67-77--288) captured the title by a trio of shots over Alizza Hetherington (72-75-69-75--291).
The win for Russell continues a season that has included a run to the Australian Women's Amateur Round of 16 and a tied for 15th showing at the St. Rule Trophy.
Gabriela Ruffels (76-76-69-73--294) took third while fourth was shared by Cassie Porter (77-80-68-71--296) and Vanessa Bouvet (77-80-68-71--296).
