LA QUINTA, CA (December 12, 2017) - In the third playing of the SCGA Stableford Team Championship, the duo of Bakersfield residents Scott Anderson and Mark Pavletich came roaring back on the final day to win the event, which was held at La Quinta Resort & Club (Dunes).
After an opening round of just one point – which put them in the middle of the pack to begin the final round of team play – Anderson/Pavletich rebounded with an unreal second day score of 11 points. The duo’s flaming hot round was the best of the entire championship and they needed every last point, barely squeezing out a one-stroke victory over SCGA stalwarts Jeff Burda and Jim Knoll.
Cullen Brasfield and Earl Morley finished third with 10 points total, two behind the winners. John Pate and Jeff Wilson were a distant fourth at four points for the tournament.
The SCGA Stableford Team Championship awards teams points on each hole on their score relative to par. Both players balls are in play, and the two scores on each hole are added together for the final team score on that hole.
