ST. SIMONS ISLAND, GA (December 21, 2017) - With one round remaining at the Jones Cup Junior Invitational William Moll leads the way with four players hot on his heels and within three-strokes.

Moll moved into the lead with the round of the day at Sea Island Resort, a spectacular bogey-free 7-under 63, that saw the Vanderbilt commit erase a six shot deficit from the start of the day.

On the front nine Moll birdied twice to get his day going but he did most of his work on the second nine. 1-over for the tournament after his 2-under 33 front nine, Moll continued to surge with birdies on the 11th and 12th holes, an eagle on the par-5 15th and a final birdie on No. 16.

Bhatia, who shot a Boys Junior PGA Championship record 61 in August, started the day tied for second place but now holds the position alone following a 1-under 69. For much of the day Bhatia couldn't get anything going and he arrived at the 17th hole 1-over with just 15 pars and a single bogey to show for his efforts. However, Bhatia kept grinding and his efforts were rewarded with consecutive birdies to finish off his round.

Ole Miss commit Jackson Shuber and first round leader Connor Creasy, a Wake Forest commit, are one shot further back in a tie for third at 2-under while Ford Clegg sits is 1-under in fifth place.

ROUND ONE RECAP

16-year-old Connor Creasy opened the Jones Cup Junior hosted by Sea Island Golf Club with a 3-under 67 to take a one-stroke first round lead.

Already committed to Wake Forest Creasy started quickly with a birdie on No. 1 only to fall back to level-par with a 4th hole bogey. The bogey however was the only dropped shot of the round and after making the turn at level-par Creasy found an extra gear on the second nine with birdies on Nos. 10, 14 and 18 to close in an impressive 3-under 32.

Ole Miss commit Jackson Suber and Akshay Bhatia are tied for second following rounds of 2-under 68.

Suber came out of the gates strong and after a 10th hole birdie he was 3-under for the day and looking for more. With eight holes remaining however Suber cooled off bogeying twice and birdieing just once during the closing stretch. His final bogey came on the 18th hole.

Bhatia, who shot a Boys Junior PGA Championship record 61 in August, it was a three birdie and one bogey day. Even for the round after 15 holes Bhatia sprinted to the finish with 16th and 18th hole tweeters.

Georgia Southern commit Wilson Andress, South Carolina commit Teddy Tetak and Auburn commit C.J. Easley are all tied for fourth at even-par.
