MADISON, Miss. (Oct. 18, 2018) – One 18-hole score on the Women’s Southern Senior leaderboard, highlighted in red, stood out among the rest. That final-round score, a 1-under 71, belonged to Anna Schultz. It helped her pull away from the field on Thursday to win the event by nine shots.

Schultz’s final round was the best score of any competitor at Reunion Golf & Country Club by three shots. She went 3 under on the back nine after making an ace on the par-3 fourth hole to start the day.

With rounds of 78-76-71, Schultz was 9 over for the week and nine ahead of runner-up Mimi Hoffman.

Schultz has a habit of making holes-in-on en masse. She has made 10 in her career as of 2014, and that along with a long list of other accomplishments helped her get into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2014. Schultz won the 2007 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur, and has every other title you could imagine, from the city level to the state level and beyond. She won this title in 2006 and 2007.

Hoffman, the Virginia Golf Association Senior Women’s Golfer of the Year in 2017, had rounds of 80-78-76 to remain relatively close on Schultz’s heels until the final round.

Susan West was third at 21 over and Nancy Beck was fourth another shot behind that.
