JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (Nov. 18, 2018) – In the end, no one at the Central Gauteng Open could overtake
Yurav Premlall after his hot start at the Country Club of Johannesburg. The South African logged opening rounds of 65-67 and never looked back.
Premlall, who plays out of Glendower Golf Club, followed with rounds of 72-71 and finished the 72-hole event at 13-under 275.
Premlall has fared well in tournament play so far this year. He was T-4 at the Southern Cape Amateur Open in Augusta and was T-12 at the Boland Amateur Stroke Play in April. He made the Round of 32 at the South African Match Play Championship and was T-13 in South African Stroke Play.
Behind Premlall, Deon Germishuys was runner-up at 11 under. Germishuys was Premlall’s closest pursuer all week, opening with rounds of 69-66 to stay on his heels.
Two players tied for third at 10 under, including Matt Saulez and Martin Vorster.
