SEBRING, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2018) – The temperatures dropped in Round 2 of the Harder Hall Invitational, getting closer to the biting cold that has become part of the tournament’s tradition, but scores are still hovering at even par. Through 36 holes, not one player is in the red.
Anna Redding, the Virginia senior who reached the quarterfinals of the North & South Women’s Amateur was runner-up at the Sally Amateur in 2018, put together back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 at Harder Hall Country Club and leads by a single shot at the halfway point. She’s one ahead of reigning Sally champion Emilia Migliaccio.
Redding was part of a three-woman tie for the lead after her opening 72. On Thursday, she was again one of three players to post an even-par score. That group includes Migliaccio, a Wake Forest sophomore, and Ffion Tynan, a junior golfer from Wales.
Another junior, Yoon Min Han, is third at 2 over par. Latanna Stone, the 17-year-old from nearby Valrico, Fla., who is committed to play for LSU beginning next fall, is another shot back in fourth. Stone’s rounds of 72-75 left her 3 over, but still very much within striking distance.
Annabell Fuller, a GB&I Curtis Cupper from London, had a second-round 74 to reach 5 over for the tournament. Fuller’s older sister Samantha is also in the field, only one shot behind her sister. Annabell, 16, is a student at IMG Academy while Samantha, 19, plays for Keiser, which competes at the NAIA level.
There are two past champions in the field, and both are mid-amateurs. Meghan Stasi, the 2014 champion, is 12 over while Ashleigh Albrecht-Hatton, the 2011 champion who was recently reinstated as an amateur, is 18 over.
