Alexander adds four-shot Davis City win to resume
Kevin Alexander
After opening with 66 at the par-67 Davis (Calif.) Golf Course, Kevin Alexander was trailing by two shots in the Davis City Championship. So Alexander, the reigning Antioch City champion, used a final-round 62 to win. Just call him Mr. City.
Alexander was a late bloomer in this game, having not taken it up until he was 25. But the now 42-year-old plays a heavily local schedule. He finished top 5 in this event a year ago.
Alexander found himself with a four-shot cushion at the end of the event. Three players finished at 2 under, including Scott Bubany, Matt Halfon and Bill Hurwitz.
Bob Ledoux and Griffin Long tied for fifth at 4 over.
No player in the senior flight was able to score like Alexander. John Rotteveel’s winning number was a 3-over 137, made up of rounds of 70-67. Dave Bunfill finished a shot behind him at 4 over, but also had a final-round 67.
