Craig Hurlbert (Magnolia, Texas) won his second straight senior event to start 2020, shooting a final-round 73 to overtake Richard Kerper (Oldsmar, Fla.) and win the Gateway Senior Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla.
Earlier this week, Hurlbert survived difficult playing conditions to take the Old Corkscrew Senior in nearby Estero, Fla.

Scoring was only slightly easier at The Gateway G&CC, with only two under-par rounds registered over the three days. For the second tournament in a row, the key to Hurlbert's success was not letting his score get away from him as others blew up.
Hurlbert shot rounds of 75-75-73 to edge out Kerper and past champion Bob Kearney (Houston, Texas) by one shot. Kearney shot a final-round 70 to almost come from six shots behind.
In the Super Senior Division, Phil Russo (Cincinnati, Ohio) pulled away from Bill Zylstra (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) by five shots.
Rick Bauch (Naples, Fla.) won the Legends Division by one shot over John Blank (Frostburg, Md.).
Gary Strickfaden (Pinehurst, N.C.) won the Super Legends Division by six shots over Walt Martin (Oakton, Va.)
