College golf is coming back (sort of)

With an abrupt end to the collegiate golf season due to COVID-19, college golf is back. Well, sort of.
Golfweek and PlayMyrtleBeach.com are partnering up for the Golfweek Myrtle Beach Collegiate. The tournament will take place on June 24-26 and will be hosted at the Barefoot Dye course.
The 54-hole tournament is open to both men and women who were on a collegiate roster for the 2019-20 season as well as incoming freshmen. The tournament will practice social distancing as it has become routine with golfers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Competitors will keep their groupmate’s score on the GolfStat app on their phone rather than using a paper scorecard and exchanging after the round.

June 27 and 28 the Myrtle Beach Coaches Challenge will take place allowing college coaches to get back on the course just as their players are.
In the Coaches Challenge, the field will play 36-holes over two days. The first round will be a two-person scramble on the front nine and a Pinehurst alternate shot on the back nine with the second round consisting of 18 holes of best ball.
