The Auburn Tigers picked the right time to dial in one of their lowest rounds in school history on Monday at the The Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C..

On the strength of Evan Vo's course-record tying 8-under 64, the Tigers shot 17-under 271 over the final round of the General Hackler Championship to emerge with the team title. By carding the third-lowest round in school history, Auburn erased a five-stroke deficit at the start of the day to earn a three-stroke win over South Carolina.

In addition to Vo's 64, the Tigers also counted a pair of 68s by Kentucky Amateur champion J.M. Butler and Austin Coggin, along with a 71 from Brendan Valdes. The Tiger's hot round carried down to Alex Vogelsong, who shot a final-round 66 as an individual entry.

"Our guys played really well, but most importantly they competed," said Auburn head coach Nick Clinard. "They were fun to watch for myself and coach (Chris) Williams. We're starting to piece everything we've learned thus far together. When we're able to do that, we're going to be a really dangerous team."

Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen of Oklahoma State, competing as an individual, claimed medalist honors at 12-under 204. After opening with a 1-over 73, Neergaard-Petersen set a course record with a 8-under 64 during his second round to vault into contention. He then closed with a 67 to earn a one-stroke victory over Vo and Algot Kleen of East Tennessee State.
