Fillippo Celli of Italy carded a third-round 73 on Friday at the European Amateur Championship and will take a one shot lead into the final round over four players, including countryman Pietro Bovari.
Celli started the third round one back of Bovari and despite shooting a second conecutive over-par round, moved into sole possession of first place after his countryman carded a 3-over 75 at Parador El Saler in Spain.
Joining the fray were Spaniard Javier Barcos Garbayo, Samuel Slater and Yannick Malik who joined Bovari in second place at 4-under par.
Slater carded the round of the day on Friday, making two eagles and five birdies on his way to a 66 (-6). The Austrialian nearly signed for a 65, narrowly missing a short birdie putt on the 18th hole.
A total of 13 players are within four shots of the lead, including the World Amateur number No. 3, Ludvig Åberg of Sweden, who sits at -1.
