ANNIKA Intercollegiate: South Carolina leads heading into the final round

After two rounds completed at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn., South Carolina sits in a great position with 18 holes remaining.
South Carolina sits at 21-under par and leads Wake Forest by 18-under. Wake Forest is in solo second place, and Oregon is in solo third place at 14-under. San Jose State is in solo fourth place at 10-under.
The Gamecocks shot a first-round 15-under 273. The score was tied for the second lowest 18-hole round in program history (also shot 273 at the Augusta Invitational on March 13, 2021, and the Florida State Match-Up on February 9, 2018).
It was the lowest round in program history to start a season, surpassing the 14-under 274the team shot in the opening round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Sept. 25, 2016.
In the individual competition, freshman Maylis Lamoure of South Carolina and Mimi Rhodes of Wake Forest are tied at the top of the leaderboard at 7-under.
The South Carolina Junior All-American Louise Rydqvist is one back at 6-under after a second-round even par 72. Rydqvist shot a new career-low round of 6-under 66 in the first round.
Also tied for third place are Farah O'Keefe of Texas, Lottie Woad of Florida State, Phoebe Brinker of Duke, and Kiara Romero of Oregon.
