Nipomo Amateur: Baron Szeto, Nicola Kaminsi win the titles

Baron Szeto, a junior at Cal Poly, and Nicola Kaminski from Fresno State clinched individual titles for men and women at the Nipomo Amateur at Monarch Dunes in Nipomo, Calif.
Szeto secured the title by shooting a total score of 7-under 206, with rounds of 66-71-69, winning by a one-shot margin over Zach Mate, a sophomore at Sacramento State who finished at 6-under par. Mate carded rounds of 65-72-70, earning a runner-up finish in the tournament.
Parker Mapes, Szeto’s teammate at Cal Poly, carded rounds of 71-68-70 to finish third at 4-under par.
The men's section saw participation from over 110 golfers, with only 35 successfully advancing through the 36-hole cut, marking it as the largest field in the tournament's history.
In the women’s section, Nicola Kaminski, a junior at Fresno State, clinched the title after shooting a total score of 2-over 215, with rounds of 71-72-72, winning by a four-shot margin over Jensen Jalufka, a redshirt junior at Cal Poly who finished at 6-over par. Jalufka carded rounds of 75-73-71, earning a runner-up finish in the tournament.
