John Burns Intercollegiate: Arizona leads by two shots heading into the final round

Arizona leads the team competition of the 2024 John Burns Intercollegiate at The Ocean Course at Hokuala in Lihue, Haw., by two shots over Grand Canyon. Arizona shot team rounds of 278-289 to get to 9-under and lead with 18 holes remaining.
Grand Canyon has shot rounds of 278-291.
Long Beach State is in solo third place at 6-under, Utah is in solo fourth place at 5-under, and New Mexico and Texas A&M are T5 at 3-under heading into the final round.
In the individual competition, Joseph Lloyd of Fresno State leads the field by one shot 8-under. Lloyd has shot rounds of
Lloyd, a two-time medalist at the Arizona Amateur (2020, 2021), is ranked No. 192 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com U.S. Rankings and recently finished T2 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate and T25 at the Patriot All-America Invitational.
Hayden Carner of Georgia Southern and Sergio Jimenez of Utah are T2 and one shot back of Lloyd at 7-under. Zach Pollo of Arizona, Clay Seeber of Long Beach State, and Bastien Amat of New Mexico are T4 at 5-under.
Pollo won the 2023 California Amateur.

The previous tournament record was set by 2022 U.S. Amateur champion and current Korn Ferry Tour member Sam Bennett (excluding 2023, when Ian Gilligan and Sam Bennett shot 61 while lift, clean, and place were in effect).
