Mackenzie Hughes and Frank Edwards win Seminole Pro-Member
Mackenzie Hugher and Frank Edwards win Seminole Pro-Member (GolfPass)
Mackenzie Hughes fired a 64 with partner Frank Edwards to win the Seminole Pro-Member.
One of the most exclusive invites in golf had a bit of a snag this year as the PGA Tour's Cognizant Classic was pushed to a Monday finish due to heavy rains on Sunday. This meant that some players had to miss out on playing Seminole this year. Hughes missed the cut and was able to play in the event.
Edwards had played with Davis Thompson last year, and in 2022 he finished runner-up with Harold Varner III.
One player who did finish his round on Sunday at the Cognizant Classic was Erik Van Rooyen. He shot a 28 on the front nine at PGA National on Sunday and shot up the leaderboard. He was one shot behind eventual winner Austin Eckroat, but the chance of a playoff was high enough that he was ready to leave Seminole in the middle of the round if he needed to compete in a playoff.
Van Rooyen and John Pinkham won the net division.
