Dr. Donnis Thompson: Arizona State continues dominate play

Arizona State continued its impressive team play, winning the 2024 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at The Ocean Course at Hokuala in Lihue, Hi.
The Sun Devils shot a second-round 22-under 266, the lowest 18-hole score vs. par in program history. It shattered the previous mark of 17-under by five strokes and gave the Sun Devils a 14-shot lead heading into the final round.
A final round 12-under 276 pushed the stroke advantage to 25 shots and an easy win. Arizona State shot team rounds of 280-266-276 to secure the wire-to-wire win.
North Carolina and Washington finished T2 at 17-under, while Sacramento State and Fresno State finished T4 at 1-under.
Ashley Menne led the Sun Devils, winning the individual title by one shot over Camille Boyd of Washington. Menne finished at 14-under with rounds of 69-64-69, while Boyd finished one shot back at
Menne had a great 2023, earning medalist honors at the North & South Amateur and making the round of 16, finishing in solo fourth place at the Southwestern Women's Amateur, finishing T6 at the Dick McGuire Invitational, finishing T11 at the NCAA Women's East Regional and T17 at the Pac-12 Women's Championship.

Menne is currently ranked No. 47 in the Golfweek/AmateurGolf.com Women's Rankings. Boyd is ranked No. 69 and is coming off a co-medalist finish at the Meadow Club Intercollegiate.
Patience Rhodes of Arizona State finished in solo third place at 11-under, Megan Streicher of North Carolina finished in solo fourth place at 10-under, and Beth Coulter finished in solo fifth place at 9-under.
