Celina Yeo of London, Ontario, Canada leads the first round of the 2024 Rolex Girls Junior Championship with a score of 6-under-par 66.
"It feels good," Yeo said. "All of the hard work is paying off. I think this whole day was pretty good. I'll probably just focus more on putting. That's the goal this week, and that's going to help me do well."
Yeo, in her first appearance at the all-girls Invitational, started her round on the back nine with five consecutives pars. Her round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 No. 16. It wasn't until No. 18 where she carded a solo bogey on the day, making the turn at 2-under-par.
Navigating her way through the course, Yeo carded a stellar bogey-free front nine that included four birdies on Nos. 1, 3, 6 and 9.
Yeo is a member of the 2023 AJGA Junior All-Star Team and has eight top-10 AJGA career finishes on her resume. The 2026 grad is searching for her first AJGA win this week.
Jude Lee, of Walnut, California finished one shot back from Yeo at 5-under-par 67. Lee had a bogey-free front nine and fired off six birdies throughout her round to secure solo-second place.
At No. 24 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings, Lee is making her second appearance in the Rolex Girls Junior Championship. The 2026 grad has already secured one AJGA win this year at the AJGA Thunderbird Heather Farr Classic in May.
In a three-way tie for third place, Elizabeth Rudisill of Charlotte, North Carolina, Miranda Lu or (Canada) Bradenton, Florida and Kathryn Ha of Roanoke, Virginia, sit at 4-under-par 68.
