CJ Van Wyk wins the Limpopo Amateur Open

CJ Van Wyk, a senior at the University of Toledo shot 8-under 208 following his rounds of 68-67-73 to register a three-shot win over the field at Limpopo Open Stroke Play Championship at Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate in Modimolle, South Africa.
Van Wyk entered the final round with a three-shot lead at 9-under and secured his victory with a steady 73, facing no visible challenge from the field. Michael Wallace, Christiaan Heyman, and Bryan Newman tied for runner-up at 5-under. Wallace posted rounds of 72-68-71, Heyman recorded 69-73-69, and Newman finished with 66-78-67.
This year, Van Wyk has competed in six ranked events, achieving three top-10 finishes. Last month, he nearly secured a victory but lost in a three-way playoff at the Harry Oppenheimer Trophy in South Africa.
Van Wyk, a recent transfer from Augusta to Toledo, has played 23 rounds for the university, boasting a scoring average of 75 and a personal best round of 66.
